October 2026 Club Events (4!)

Have fun earning the coin collecting merit badge! Open to all Scouts registered in a Scouts BSA Troop.

Cupertino Coin Club Officers Emile Mestressat and Suzy Trigonis are offering our free Scouting America Coin Collecting Merit Badge Workshop on Saturday, October 3, from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm at Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council’s new Service Center, 1900 The Alameda, Suite 100, San Jose, CA 95126.

Board Directors, Officers and coin club members will also be assisting with review of requirements and sign-off of Blue Cards. All are Certified, Registered Merit Badge Counselors.

JOINT PICNIC WITH SAN JOSE COIN CLUB –

It’s Picnic Time again! Our Cupertino & San Jose Coin Clubs’ Joint Picnic will be Saturday, August 15, starting at noon, at Las Palmas Park in Sunnyvale.
We will enjoy a delicious menu of BBQed items: hamburgers & cheeseburgers, plus drinks and condiments.
Attendees are asked to bring a side dish to share and help complete the meal: salad (any kind – green, pasta, potato), fruit/fruit salad, other side dish, chips, or dessert.
Adult members & 1 guest are $5 each.
Youth ages 12-17 are $2.
Additional guests are $7.
Youth ages 0-11 are free.
To RSVP, please make checks payable to Cupertino Coin Club & either turn in at CCC’s June or July meeting, or mail it with the bottom portion of the flyer found at the end of the June & July newsletters or at this link:

Electronic payments via PayPal will be accepted but you need to email cupertinocoinclub@gmail.com for instructions.
The picnic will be the day after our August meeting. We need to receive your reservation form by Friday, Aug. 7 so that enough food is purchased.
The picnic starts at noon. Food will be available up until 1pm, when our wonderful volunteer Grillmasters stop cooking. To get the freshest and hottest food, be sure to arrive before 1pm.
Reservations are required & need to be received by Aug. 7. Looking forward to seeing you at the picnic!

Rest in Peace Don Ehlers

Donald Schaeffer Ehlers, “Don“, loving husband of Cupertino Coin Club Life Member, Britta, passed away on February 6, 2026 at the age of 87. He is remembered for attending Cupertino Coin Club events with his wife, such as the annual banquets at The Blue Pheasant restaurant, meetings and shows. This photo is from our 2018 banquet. Rest in peace. He will be missed.
